Dr. Joshua Sariñana was born in San José, California. He received his neuroscience degrees at the University of California, Los Angeles and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Sariñana has had solo exhibitions at the Griffin Museum of Photography and the Science Gallery at Trinity College, Dublin. His work has been exhibited at Gulf Photo Plus in Dubai, the Los Angeles Center of Photography, Photoville in New York City, and the International Foto Festival in Belgium.
He was named a Critical Mass 2017 Top 200 Finalist. His work has been recognized by the Sony World Photography Awards, American Photography, Latin American Fotografía, Prix de la Photographie Paris, and the Head On Photo Awards. His work has been featured in Silvershotz Magazine, The Guardian, and an iPhone 6 commercial.
Sariñana has written on photography and neuroscience for PetaPixel, Don’t Take Pictures, The Smart View, and has given talks at Flashpoint Boston, Bentley University, and Trinity College.
