I have taken photographs consistently since beginning as a child in the late 1970s with a pocket camera. I also have a lifelong enjoyment of the written word and, where relevant, incorporate handwritten text into projects. Many of my projects have touched upon the human connection with physical place. I am interested in the way we use photography to evidence that we were present, but I also find interest in representations of ‘home’ and our sense of belonging. This inevitably leads to reflection on personal experience, as I access memories of places and events and address perceptions of self and surroundings.
