I am an artist, originally from the prairies in Canada, where I fell in love with the sky at an early age. My family valued art and photography and my father was an amateur photographer in his younger days. I love photographing light effects, atmospheric conditions, flowers, landscapes, waterscapes and pretty much anything at all that captures my imagination or inspires me. As I am also what I call a "hands dirty" artist, working with paint, ink, collage and so forth, I see things with the eye of a painter and enjoy looking at and creating painterly images. I am passionate about ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) photography, and experimental methods that lend themselves well to expressionism/impressionism. My photographs are often very abstract and I paint with my camera as well as with brushes. Photography is a wonderful medium. Viewing the world through my camera lens enables me to find beautiful compositions, textures, colour combinations, the play between positive and negative space, light and shadow...My camera, in combination with RawTherapee, my photo editing program, give me yet another medium with which to create art. I am constantly learning by doing and experimenting and looking at oh so many images on social media... In any case, I am well and truly hooked on photography. I cannot imagine my life without it!
