Self-taught, I started taking photographs at 17 years old with a Praktica 35mm film camera: until it was stolen. Unable to afford to replace the lost equipment, I concluded, rather prematurely, that I was not meant to be a photographer.
Recently I rediscovered my fascination for photography and bought a new (this time digital) camera.
Since then, comforted by the realisation that I hadn't forgotten everything I had learned years before with film, I have leapt into digital. I also have film cameras again and love both analogue and digital (although I far prefer the printed results of monochrome film to digital monochrome).
I enjoy all genres of photography. I like to find unusual things or photograph everyday things in different ways. I guess I see differently!
My favourite subject is people. About people. No single moment photographed can ever be exactly repeated: beautiful; eccentric; colourful; extraordinary or ordinary people, the moment is always unique.
BTW, I have recently acquired a Praktica LTL3, the very same camera that was stolen all those years ago, and I love it!
