About Kevin Vandivier

Started shooting photos in High School, graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Journalism. I freelanced my way way through college, including shooting my first assignment for National Geographic Society on Japanese Snow Monkeys. After graduating, I joined the staff of The Dallas Times Herald newspaper. After a 3 years at the paper, I decided to leave the paper to pursue a freelance career. I joined Black Star and spent over thirty years with them shooting assignments for many of the top magazines, including NGS, Life, Newsweek and many others. Eventually, I would shortly leave freelance for a couple of years to serve as the Photography Editor for Texas Highways Magazine. Though it was a great and rewarding ride, I just missed being free, so I left to continue freelancing.
