Janak Kouzel (b. 1985) is a Belarusian photographer and bioinformatician currently based in Konstanz, Germany. He graduated from the Faculty of Biology of Belarusian State University (2008) and got PhD in natural sciences from the University of Muenster in Germany (2014).
As a photographer, Janak’s focus is on street and documentary photography, which is for him a research tool allowing to immerse and investigate hidden and unique aspects of small communities, personalities or phenomena, but also an approach to express himself and show his own perspective on what matters. Currently he is working independently on several documentary long-term photo projects.
