Russian-born Kristina Varaksina has resided in the
USA since 2010 and currently lives and works between London and New York.
Women and girls have been the subject of my work for a number of years - I strive always to create meaningful portraits that represent them as who they really are.
I try to give voice to women from different ethnic, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, each doing their best to not only accept themselves as who they are, but also to be proud of that. I see my job as a photographer to make “ordinary” women more visible and therefore, more valuable.
