We are two Venezuelan photographers working in a collaborative project.
MARIANA MENDOZA
Medical doctor and photographer. She has studied photography in Caracas and at the International Center of Photography in New York City. In 2016, she was awarded First Prize, category: Series, in the II National Photography Prize organized by the European Union Delegation in Venezuela. Her photographic series Las Cuidadoras de Caracas (Caracas Caregivers) belongs to a private collection of the Urban Photography Archive Institution. He research focused work deals with narratives documenting the collective, as well as issues such absence and the passage of time.
LAURA MORALES BALZA
Born in 1972 in Mérida, Venezuela. Photographer and graphic designer with over 20 years of experience in editorial design, brand identities, publishing and projects relating to literature and arts. She has studied photography in Caracas and Spain. The main core of her work is the representation of territory trying to transform landscape into images with evocation that tell about her relation with places. Teaches photography in Caracas.
