About Maj-Lis Andersen

I was born in 1959 by Norweigan parents. My mother grew up in a orphanage outside Oslo. She was 17 years old when she gave birth to me in Eskilstuna, Sweden. I worked in hospitals for a few years before I moved on to live in London 2 years in the middle of 1980 s. In London I studied darkroomteknique. I worked as a photojournalist in Swedish newspapers between 1988 and 1993. I have been working with documentay, street and art projects for almost 30 years. The projects are often based on different themes with short texts and poems. The aim is to show the images to the people involved and to the public in form of exhibitions and in publications. I work with analogue cameras and print the photographs in the darkroom at The Artist Co-operative in Stockholm: www.kkv.nu
