Born in Montevideo in 1961. After graduating as an Architect, he moved to New York to complete his academic studies at Columbia University, endorsed by the prestigious Fulbright Advanced Research Award.
His professional career as a photographer starts in the news article for the press. In this period he is chosen to represent his country in the "Journalistic Photography Workshop of La Plata" (Argentina), given by Sebastiao Salgado, Susan Meiselas, Fred Ritchin, Abbas and Robert Pledge; Obtains the "Seven Young Latin American Artist Exchange" scholarship from the American Cultural Exchange Institute and numerous photography awards. Later investigates and works in photography of architecture, fashion and portrait.
From 2000 to 2007 he worked as Photography Director of the Photography Department of the Edipresse / Hymsa publishing group in Barcelona. Currently works for publishing groups and advertising agencies in the field of portraiture and reporting.
In 1990 he is an assistant instructor in the laboratories of the International Center of Photography in New York and since 1991 he lives and works in Barcelona where, in addition to his professional work, he develops a teaching activity at GrisArt-Escola Superior de Fotografia and at the Center de la Imatge And the Multimèdia Technology (CITM) of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. He also frequently teaches workshops in other cities in Spain and Uruguay.
As author, his work has been made known in numerous international events, highlighting his presence in the Latin American Photography Encounters held in Havana (1984), Caracas (1993), FotoFest in Houston, Texas (1994) and in Frames 2007 And 2011, in Montevideo, Uruguay. All his work has been exhibited in Montevideo, Buenos Aires, San Pablo, Medellín, Caracas, Havana, New York, Madrid and Barcelona.
