About Marian Rubin

I am a Senior; a social worker and a photographer. I have been both of those things all of my life. I have been engaged in photography since the age of 9. It was only recently that I came to understand that this is just who I am. I think I have always been tuned in to people and their circumstances, especially those in need. The poignancy of their lives sometimes moves me deeply and I often feel their pain. I have been told in the past that I am a voice for those who are unable to speak for themselves and these days as I develop as a photographer, I feel that my camera is my voice. My camera apparently is able to disclose what I feel in my heart. I don’t know why that is. It just is. I think my images tell you more about me than about my subjects.
