Mayumi Inoue is a Japanese artist.
After her studies at JOSHIBI Art University, She was the director of a television news program in Tokyo. From 2011 to 2014, she participated in a workshop with photographer Michiko Matsumoto.
She creates photographic works using her installation work as a subject.
Since April 2018, Currently doing artist based in Paris, France.
Recipient of a two-year grants from the Ministry of Culture of Japan, from 2020 to 2022.
In her work "Fil de vie", she weaves the hair of people who have lost their hair during cancer treatment. For her, this hair is proof of the determination of cancer patients to live. By using hair as a symbol of life, she tries to create a work that allows hair to be reborn.
She seeks what connects her to society through her own body and memory.
