Cancer and Hair

Mayumi Inoue uses her own artworks and production process as the subject matter for her photographic work. For the series 'Cancer and Hair', she photographed objects made from hair lost to cancer drug treatment. The titles of the works include the names of the hair donors, attempting to express the evidence of their determination to live and prove their existence. The aim is to create a photographic representation of life and scale that goes beyond the actual object.
