Mico is a Brazilian art director turned photographer.
Mico studied art direction in Brazil and did a MA in Visual Communication in London at Central Saint Martins. After 10 years of working in the creative industry in legenday agencies such as Mother, Wieden & Kennedy and Droga5 as creative art director, Mico decided to take a side step and head towards documentary photography. As a self-taught photographer Mico is pursuing subjects that tackle minorities and environmental issues. Mico's first project documents portraits of Water Protectors in Standing Rock Sioux tribe, ND, opposing the build of a 3 billion dollar pipeline through sacred disputed Native American lands.
