About Mico Toledo

Mico is a Brazilian art director turned photographer.
Mico studied art direction in Brazil and did a MA in Visual Communication in London at Central Saint Martins. After 10 years of working in the creative industry in agencies such as Mother, Wieden and Kennedy and Droga5 as creative art director, Mico decided to take a side step and head towards documentary photography. After focusing his first project on depicting portraits of the native water protectors of Standing Rock in 2016 and 2017, Mico is now focusing his attention on untold stories of his native country, Brazil. His aim is to tell stories that thread the thin line between the real and the unreal and the pursuit of the Brasiliana aesthetics.
