About Mirna Chacin

Mirna Chacín is a Venezuelan-born Canadian photo-based visual artist who immigrated to Canada in seek of the equal rights Canada grants to LGBTQ2+ community.
Mirna claims that her camera is the eye of her inner world, which aids her deal and elaborates on the changing life events in her life throughout photography. Since the 1990s, she exhibited in art galleries and museums in her home country, Venezuela, across Latin America, Italy, and Canada.

Shortly before immigrating to Canada in 2011, The University of Zulia (LUZ) awarded Mirna a Gold Medal for her artistic achievements in Venezuela.
Recent solo exhibitions: “Where The Sun Rises,” an ongoing public exhibition thought construction hoarding in Downtown, Toronto; "Confined Bodies" at MACZUL , Venezuela 2020 and "Sons Of The Sun", at MOPLA 2019 projections.
