Self-taught Portrait Photographer with studies of Advertising and Film Making.
His first contact to photography was in 1997 as a trainee photographer for local newspaper in Lima. Soon got in touch and learned about darkroom by copying and developing black and white photos first, later on went in for events’ photography working in this for over three years to several companies.
He had always felt drawn towards the way many photographers performed their lighting work so had to go over and check many specialized books and magazines; most of his knowledge came indeed from these photography
books and magazines and feature articles, bringing into practice as much as he could.
But it was not till late 2004 when he became a professional photographer by getting his first “photographic lighting equipment” which he used to achieve diverse projects and so reaching a more demanding and different kind of customers and assignments.
In the past three years he has performed all types of works going from industrial and advertising photos to modeling and portrait pictures.
Versatile photographer since he finds it very easy and comfortable to suddenly switch from industrial and advertising photography into bridal and nude scenes, in fact it is this type of portraits and those of the Peruvian country life and townscape his greatest passions which have made him yet a recognized figure by being honored with the Hasselblad Masters Award 2008 for the Portrait Category.
His portraits show a very strong intimate style where definition is always created by the light through a highly demanding aesthetics to every shot.
