About Natalia Shields

I developed a passion for photography during a career as a teacher of visual arts. Retired from teaching, I now enjoy the freedom to pursue my passion.

Embracing the digital age, I enjoy taking some of my images past the original shot to express my personal vision. When opportunities arise, I use my photography in support of the environment, the protection of Ontario’s prime farmland and my personal political beliefs.

Rural and northern landscapes, tree portraits, nature in urban spaces and impressions from my travels, locally and abroad, are just some of the subjects that command my attention in my work.

My images are occasionally on exhibit in photo and art shows around the Golden Horseshoe/GTA regions of Ontario, Canada. A founding member of f8 Photography Collective, I have been exhibiting with them since in 2010.
