Nima Soleimanpour is an Iranian freelance photographer and photojournalist based in Tehran. He was born in February 1978 in Iran. He grew up in Shiraz and studied Mechanical Engineering at university. He used to work as a HVAC designer engineer until 2010 but he was never satisfied with his job. One day, he was scanning old family pictures in order to save them against damage. Those images had a powerful effect on him in a way that he decided to become a photographer.
Nima is a member of Iranian Photojournalists’ Association currently. He has been working for several Iranian magazines and newspapers in the previous years.He also has photographed for the ”Observer New Review” in Tehran.
His passion for Social Documentary and Photo Story led him to try to experience moments of life deeply. He believes “moments” are the most important elements of life which can be easily forgotten. In his opinion, photography helps to stay focused on them.
