About Patrick D Wilson

Patrick D. Wilson is Assistant Professor of Sculpture and Integrated Media at Western Michigan University. He received an M.F.A. from the San Francisco Art Institute, where he later taught as a visiting faculty member in sculpture. Wilson’s works employ diverse media including steel, wood, laminated photographs, textiles and digital projection. His current research areas include digital fabrication, the intersection of photography and sculpture, and urban development in China. In 2012, Wilson was awarded a Fulbright fellowship to photograph construction sites in China. During his fellowship he lived and worked at the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, and created sculpture in a small furniture factory in Chongqing. Wilson has exhibited at locations such as the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, SFMOMA Artists Gallery, the Sharjah Art Museum, Northern Arizona University Art Gallery, and the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art.
