Perry Hall is a contemporary artist and educator known for his resilience, transformation, and authenticity. Raised on Maryland’s Eastern Shore by outlaw biker parents, Hall overcame a turbulent youth marked by instability, juvenile detention, and years of homelessness. He defied societal expectations and channeled his experiences into an artistic vision inspired by skateboarding, street culture, and photography.
In 2014, Hall began teaching himself photography in Rome, working with a Leica M6 and 35mm film. Rome became his creative crucible and home for nearly a decade, shaping his distinct visual language. His acclaimed projects include "Street Skateboarding: The Act of Resistance," “In the Mouth of the Wolf," "Where the Wild Roses Grow," "Sincerely Cuba," "Devil Lived," "Sabbia e Sale," "Sin St”, and Pale Meridian. These works explore themes of resistance, identity, travel, and the poetry of everyday life.
Now based in Dallas, Texas, Hall teaches workshops and leads commercial photography projects, collaborating with brands, media, editorial teams, sports organizations, events, and fashion houses. His notable clients include CRACKED Magazine, Netflix, Nickelodeon, NHRA, Den of Geek Media, Anthropologie, Tottenham Hotspur, FIFA World Cup, and Sport Magazine, among many others. He is also the co-founder of Daylight School in Rome, dedicated to street and documentary photography.
Perry Hall’s journey from a juvenile delinquent in and out of juvenile penitentiaries to a homeless teenager to an accomplished photographer and educator is proof of the transformative power of art, turning lived experience into a compelling creative narrative and always staying true to his story and vision.
