Pete Hendley has traveled extensively and lived in Australia, Guatemala and Mexico. He is the 2019 Winner of the Black and White Magazine Single Image Spotlight Award in the Travel Category, Issue #136 December, 2019. He has published photographs with The Travel Channel, Travel & Leisure, USA Today, Forbes, Detroit Free Press, The Cut, and Virtuoso. He is the author of "The World is Beautiful: Two Years on the Road (Photos)" and "LCI-85: The Military Career of Lt(jg) Coit Hendley Jr. During the Invasions of North Africa, Italy, and Omaha Beach on D-Day: His Papers and Photos". He has also published fiction in Cricket Magazine; Aethlon: The Journal Of Sport Literature; and the anthology The Workshop; as well as articles in The Daily Iowan newspaper. A graduate of The University of Iowa Writers' Workshop, he makes his home in Iowa City, Iowa.
