Crowds of people get on the train to their hometowns. Wait is followed, and they accept it inevitable. Busyness, steam from train, fog on railroad, sighs, exhaustion, the friction of the railway, all of which form a spectacle. A photographer behind the camera asks. What am I doing here? Where should I go?
It's really simple to press the shutter button on the street. On the other hand, the meaning penetrates all the targets of society, ethics, morality, emotion and environment. Instead of neglecting them, I applied these censorship on the photos without censorship.
The ecology in which photographers live has always had these conditions and limitations. Reflecting on fine art, photography and keeping the ethics of documentary, always leaves only a question mark at the end. Any photograph will end up with a critical wind. Still, the window cannot be closed. Photography is something open.
In this series, I faced the photography and the ecology of it that I belong to as it is, and photographed people heading to the mother's arms, Heterotopia. The images are taken and post-produced in the trip to see my family in India over the years. The title is motivated from Miguel de Unamuno’s literary work 「Mist」.
