In this series, I aimed to create images like a form of superpositions that are inspired by the process of Ukiyo-e.
By using the picture which had been archived and combining the different layers of print altogether by hand, the result is almost uncontrollable and often accidental. I attempted to avoid the texture of reality in order to recreate my childhood memories. Mt. Chitose is the name of the mountain I used to look up every day as a young child.
This series is a personal journey to explore my deep connection to nature. By exploring my digital archives and transforming mundane images into something visually palpable, I wanted to develop the pictorial aspect of photography.
