To recognize the uncommonness of the everyday and, despite its transience, create a photograph that communicates with subtlety and meaning. This is my ambition.
These photographs are my response to a nagging compulsion to take my camera outside and create order out of the jumble of city life. By putting my frame around juxtapositions and subtle gestures, I reinterpret the nuances of the street. In these photographs tragedy becomes comedy, the mundane is absurd.
There is quirkiness and gentle irony here, and the record of more than a few confronting moments. But in the end, when novelty and humour are spent, these frozen fractions of time will break your heart.
