Carnival project

The Carnival of Viareggio is one of the most important and appreciated internationally and is visited every year by thousands people. Viareggio is a city in serious economic difficulties. The municipalities that have occurred in the last 20 years have created a huge debt using public money foolishly. Companies have been created for the conduct of the services and the city’s heritage that, for mismanagement, have accumulated with the common tens of millions of Euros in debt creating mo with a very severe economic disruption. In cities the situation is very difficult: there is no money for the maintenance of heritage buildings, schools, kindergartens, theaters and monuments. Cultural associations endeavor to buffer the social emergency. Despite all this, and with a grant of 1.2 million euro of the Tuscany region, this year has been able to play the carnival. Also this year people are put on a mask and took to the streets to march and to try, at least for those few hours, to seem happy.
