‘Layered’ is a series of pictures put together from my personal collection over the years.
People generally perceive daily life in a single dimension – focused on activity in-front of them. ‘Layered’ is captured in such a way that the phenomenon of life can be glimpsed in layers. It tries to offer a little depth, to the multidimensional aspect of life. Like a fly on the wall, it frames the dynamics of life, from the recesses of any given space.
Metaphorically like the ‘big bang’ - energy is dispersed everywhere, through life on the streets – in different manifestations - on many scales. ‘Layered’ frames life at its most prominent scale to humans, yet it goes by mostly unnoticed.
Many may opine that these are random events, but the energy forming these multi-layered patterns happens all the time – ubiquitously at every turn – and only frozen into a dynamic pattern when the observer combines intention and perception with layered awareness.
