Art of the Airport Tower explores 85 contemporary and historical air traffic control towers in the U.S. and around the world bringing a heightened awareness to the simple beauty of these architectural structures and a call for their preservation. I strived to elevate the airport towers as objects of art, symbols of technological change, and cultural expression within the airport landscape.
The Art of the Airport Tower exhibit premieres at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C. from November 11, 2015 – November 2016 and tours for two years beginning December 2016. The companion book with over 100 photographs is published by Smithsonian Books in the fall of 2015.
