I am a picture maker that uses photography as my primary tool of expression. I create pictures that make the ordinary exceptional. My aim is to reveal how I interpret the world.
I am interested in exploring and creating a visual lexicon that will challenge and question preconceived ideas about the world around us. I ask the viewer to look at the ordinary and see it for the first time as a child might discover new things and be curious and amused.
The intent is to communicate that our surroundings influence, in not too subtle fashion, how we experience life. Most often it is ignored by the preoccupation of daily existence. Taking these everyday objects, artifacts, or urban sculptures out of context elevates their status. And in doing so more attention may be focused on our habitat and perhaps not take it for granted.
