My practice considers photography’s ability to describe space and to function as a historical document or a means of structuring memory. While making use of advanced digital technology, I am interested in forging a continuum with the historical ambitions of photography through composition, attention to detail and choice of subject matter.
construction of a visual archive and the inherent tension between human and photographic vision — the temporal, scanning sensation of sight vs. the single point perspective of a photograph — is accentuated when I assemble multiple photographs, offering dozens of perspectives shot over several hours, into a single image.
