I come from a fine art background. I studied painting and printmaking at SVA. I worked making maps and technical illustrations in the publishing industry and as a picture framer. It's only in recent years that I've been doing photography. I use a Panasonic Lumix and vintage Dianas and Pouva Starts. I got the toy camera bug after a few years of Micro four thirds and phone photography. I work in both color and black and white. I use black and white to create mood and color for emotional impact. The photographs here are from different ongoing series. I have a few subjects that I return to again and again as long term projects--represented here by a selection of photographs of old houses, gardens, and waterways. They are for me places of rich expressive potential full of symbolism, mystery, and mood.
