What roles do we play in different areas of life? What self-image do we have of ourselves? How do we want to be seen? Which ascriptions of identity do we make when we meet other people? What are the layers of human identity? With the portraits of the series PATCHWORK IDENTITY, Beate C. Koehler takes up such questions and deals with them artistically. The photo artist expresses the complexity of human identity through superimpositions in the picture and thus allows us to participate in her encounter with people and a subjective view of the people portrayed.
