The convergence of documentary landscape photography and surreal graphic twists are evident in my ongoing environmentally-related work, "The River Project: Origins, Movement, Confluence—Reflections Series." I find my concerns and my endless inspiration in the natural environment. Referring to "The River Project: Origins, Movement, Confluence," I find just as the river moves, so the inquiry changes, unveiling the past, and directing the future
On the surface, my "Reflections Series" appears to be reflections on water in spring, summer, fall, and the edges of winter. Delving more deeply, viewers can discover reflections within reflections. In a surreal manner, we can discover what is real, what appears real, and what is reflective of reality.
My printmaking process mirrors my observations in nature, and is reflective of the natural and social changes I also observe; during my printmaking, construction, and assemblage process, I further transform as future possibilities unfold. The viewer can (as I do) add another layer of reflection, which I envision as seasonally renewing, healing, and hopeful.
