Equinox

The fragile moment between child and adulthood cannot be preserved. It's as crucial as volatile. In EQUINOX, I tried to catch this turnover point. Being fully aware not to be able to achieve this. In this special time most kids are still protected by family but also take their first steps. Each person is confronted with a new view into the world but also with him- or herself, for example with a changing body. Especially girls have to master the balancing act of a playful youth and becoming a woman. Having the first menstruation is as double-edged as the whole process of growing up itself. I chose the technique of collage to build my series as I intended to show the multiple layers of growing up. Everybody knows this time, but once it is over, it is ungraspable. Just a picture of partly convoluted, interwoven feelings stay.
