The collection I have submitted is a mult-year and multi-location study of natural glacial ice. Just being able to see these colors and reflections with my own eyes for the first time captivated me. Nothing on earth looks like it, nothing has its depth of light and explosive colors, Nothing can look as beautiful and as dangerous all at once. In the brightest most color heavy environments it shines like a diamond and when its dark and grey it seems to produce a light all its own.
These images are not only a color feast for me but I want to preserve these moments. These shapes, colors and environments as they were shot even a year ago are now gone forever. Melted and shifted into something else entirely.
These 10 images illustrate the ice in all its photographic forms, from high contrast black and white, to color abstracts, to landscapes articulating shape and color pop.
