“Uncover” the hidden Art using Photography, is like giving a sail the greatest wind, which blows from a distant past. The photography, similarly, uses Light with a double meaning, the physical one as energy that writes and the metaphorical one that makes people know and see what is invisible.
These photos illumine what is in the dark and all those things which people ignore, like the Etruscan room in the basement of Villa Torlonia in Rome, a place in which people ignore its real function; or like the mezzanine in the Red Palace Genoa, a secret floor with low ceilings used for romantic liaisons and transgressive parties. People cannot visit places like Hypogeum in Cristallini Road in Naples or like air-raid shelters in Turin. These are forgotten places, full of History. Frozen in timeless masterpieces, which are silent, they invite us to think, but their beauty certainly illumines us. This exhibition is a foretaste of what Italy hides and a provocation against big commercial areas, which are full of light. This is a blinding light, making us invisible to others.
