It feels strange writing the word "crisis" along side the name of the country with the greatest oil reserves in the world. Venezuela had always been known by Latin Americans as the richest country in our region.
In Cucuta Colombia, a border town whose growth was attributed to the trade that Venezuelans provided in times of economic boom, has collapsed under the pressure of hundreds of thousands of displaced Venezuelans immigrating due to hunger, violence and a lack of medicine. While international diplomats try to end Maduro´s regime, Venezuelans human rights continue to be violated.
