photographies of Fernanda Chemale inspired by poems from Gisela Rodriguez
DESORDEM [DISORDER] symbolically represents today man’s collective unconscious. Its subjects refer to pop culture, literature and myth archetypes, alluding to Barbie, Hamlet’s Ophelia, and Medusa. Fenanda Chemale creates visual dialogues between photo, art and Gisela Rodriguez’s poetry. These are relationships between past, present and future emphasizing a suspended, chimerical, fabulous plan; a portrait of a society pervaded by failed interpersonal relationships, connected by fears, imaginations, emotions, and ways of life.
Homeland
"We’ll see each other soon
Dear reader, for escape
Does not, in fact, exist.
Tell me, which hero could I play the role of?
It would be any piracy martyr
I would dare water poisonous weed
And await revolution."
poem by Gisela Rodriguez
"Fernanda’s photography dialogs with Gisela’s poetry, open in its closures, free in its associations, in a spirited and imaginative attitude. To the delight of readers and viewers, their gaze is always followed by a flowing, freeing air, an emblematic element of their work and what seems to be an understanding of our current time: to dedicate to our world with passion and irony."
