Visually displayed in this photographic series are written words on clothing that we might wear. The expressions on the clothing convey social statements that advertise what we feel strongly about or represent forms of self expression that may help us bond with others. Yet, the people who are wearing them here are vague and blurred. They are not easy to see. Why? Their vagueness represents two ideas in this photographic collage series. Are we people alive in a world filled with captions and creeds simply wearing these messages, but remaining vague entities behind them and not living up to their values? Do we categorize people so that they become blurred and we are no longer able to see them, no longer able to accept them and regard them in the same manner as we do ourselves?
This series is titled Joint Dreamers because we are not alone in our world. That is everyone’s dream. Dream together, so that our joint dream is one that is realized.
