Vignettes of Italy (Black and White) is a photographic series of street scenes in Italy. As a traveler and history enthusiast, I am interested in capturing the experience of daily life in historic places. These ten images are from Rome, Tivoli, Venice, and the Amalfi Coast.
While I love Italy's vivid colors, I find that the black and white format works best to bring out key details -- such as cobblestones, stonework, and ironwork. Black and white images also evoke the elegance of early photographs and films of Italy.
I hope that my photographs help to connect the viewer to the long tradition of travel and exploration in the Mediterranean and inspire them to travel and explore themselves!
