Zoo

ZOO (2014-2016) The artistic calling of the animal is intense in the contemporary art and there is no other reason: the animal, in its particularity, carries a little of the human mystery. Zoo is a series of photographs that shows wild animals that have been dislocated to domestic environments. The works deviate from the idea of representation, to designate a movement between man and animal, in which they build a symbiotic relationship. The photograph works as the testimony of an action. Facing an animal make us return to something primitive, ancestral and, maybe, for a brief instant, we become a jaguar. All photographs were taken in Brazil, with the support of veterinarians and biologists.
