Project: Hot Air Balloon

I wanted to recreate from my imagination and a series of photographs taken while viewing an actual take off of a hot air balloon which I was lucky to see quite unexpectedly. Running into the field with my camera, watching the take off, I felt like I was in the crowd around the wizard of Oz when he was going to take Dorothy home. Everyone on this flight took off though and floated gently way up into the sky. It was so amazing watching as the hot air balloon inflated and finally the ropes were released and into air they went. The following series is that same hot air balloon floating on its now imaginative journey above a city skyline. A few are interpretations of balloons abstracted on their own journey against a New York City skyline. Enjoy the many journeys awaiting you! Susy Andrea
