What do we see at the art museum, what do we notice? The shy eyes of the portrait who is looked at every day and wants to hide or the rolling landscape painted ions ago in light we try to bring to our art and photography today. We look closely or notice others looking closely, their eyes studying the waves of colors as they caress the canvas. Their bodies moving as close as allowed, almost as if they want to go inside the paintings.
Recently I again stepped inside the art museum, a place that brings many inspirations both in a visual capacity for I not only admire but I too look sensitively at the artwork searching for that universal sigh we feel. We are imagining what the artist felt as they created their work. Listening to the historical background the artist lived in, the influences that grew each artist, their philosophies and steadfast approaches to the often innovative explorations they sometimes traveled alone.
This series of several photographs represents people in an art museum. It culminates with a musician alive and playing his music with passion. I think we enter the art museum also searching for our own unique passions and if we find them there at the art museum we too leave with a passionate song.
