BREATHE OF LIFE---STREETS OF SAIGON
The city is loud, raucous, chaotic, but on many corners are temples and green spaces for quiet contemplation. Contradictions are found in every aspect of life.
Hyperactive, slow-paced indifference, and the high-pitched scream of small motors, the delicate calls of birds in the park. Temples are the constant center of devotion, worshipers coming from the street, giving witness to their expressions of the universal before disappearing back into the flow of the street.
The smell of incense enriches the senses as the smoke shrouds the activities in a mystic feeling of timelessness.
The Streets of Saigon is my impression of feeling intimate with the lives of the city's residents. It seems that their material wants enhance their spiritual openness. My interest is to demonstrate, by contrasting the repose of the temples with the bustle of the streets, what an irresistible brew Saigon is for me.
