This project speaks about the collapse of our society. If we continue to live as we do, the most pessimistic collapsologie's theories says that the collapse will occur in twenty or thirty years. So I photograph our actual world and imagine how the reality will be just after the collapse. An imaginary vision of the apocalyspe. No devils, just the remains of Humanity.
Among these remains of our civilization, I like the roads because I think they will stay long time, formed from the blood of the earth. It's partly our oil consumption that will cause our downfall, and these roads are made with bitumen (derived from oil), so I found it ironic. In 3000 years, when something will look at them, what will it ask about it ?
I try to work like some painters, so my photographs can look like some painting... So I take my photos in rainy weather, through the windshield of my car, because I think that this "after us" could be wet and cold. I like the dirty side due to dripping. I then capture textures in macrophotography (walls, ice, soil ...) that I just plaster over the original photos (those taken through my windshield, you understood).
I like this aspect that smells like Silent Hill, Lovecraft, Poe, Mad Max, The road...
