These photos are part of a project where I have explored urban/suburban environments in Sweden. It has resulted in a series of images where I have wanted to highlight the strict and minimalistic aesthetics that arise in the interaction between light, shadows and geometric shapes, combined with the elements of movement and “decisive moments” of street photography. It is an attempt to show the beauty and alterability in environments that may often mistakenly be perceived as monotonous. But the images are also a reflection on the role of the individual in a harsh and desolate urban landscape, about the relationship between people and architecture. Or is the architecture here perhaps only a projection screen for a personal story about loneliness and anonymity, about human living conditions on a more psychological level?
All pictures are taken somewhere in Sweden, sorted in chronological order and named by the hour, minute and second of their exposure. Thus, they constitute a series of moments that, in the full project, will take place for exactly 12 hours, like a review of everyday life while time and light sweep across the city. My aim is to publish this series in a photobook.
