As an immigrant myself and as the daughter of two immigrants, I have always been interested in cultural identity. I am interested in what ‘feeling at home’ means, and how sometimes we must leave the place of our birth to find our home.
My street photography project, Dear Green Place, explores how immigration has changed Glasgow and how it has given this historical city a new cultural identity. I am fascinated by the unique urban landscape born out of this vast intersection of cultures. I hope to not only start a dialogue but also further explore my own place in the city and articulate why it is I feel at home in my adopted city.
