This series of images was captured at Badlands National Park. I have always been drawn to the park for the unique geologic formations, amazing wildlife and sunrises/sunsets that will leave you speechless. As a conservationist, I also find the natural history of the area unique, with very few other places like it. Knowing that the Badlands erode at a rate of about 1 inch per year also gives me purpose in photographing the area in a way that I hope highlights the erosion. The erosion is what gives us the spectacular formations, but it also will someday take them away. I thoroughly enjoy photographing the Badlands in black and white. The light and shadows change frequently here. The "lines" in the formations seem to change color by the minute and leaves anyone with a camera and some patience and endless creative opportunity.
