Shelters in the nature bring back memories of my childhood when days were full of constant play and endless imagination. I remember myself sitting in the self-made brushwood hut; sensing the rain and fog, dim light of autumn, moss under my feet.
Creating these images has led me closer to my inner child and the harmony of feeling of being one, equal part with the nature.
The word "shelter" is associated with home, private, secure and intimate place to hide. It can also refer to opposite where the absence of shelter or protection creates vulnerability. It can also be a state of mind, which restricts one to crow, develop or move on.
I am interested in remote, deserted and marginal places, which do not carry economical or financial importance. Alders, thickets, bushes and dunes inspire me to make fabric installations. By using both artificial and daylight I create an atmosphere; suggest an imaginary narrative which evoke feelings, associations, glimpse from the past or future, memories, unwritten or forgotten stories.
Nature shelters us, but it can be easily destroyed and forgotten. Through photography I wish to give voice to silent places.
