The Wall

Images of the Mexican-USA border wall around Calexico, California. From the abstractness of the neat lines of the steel bollards in the Sonoran Desert to the commercial activity on the Mexican side where food and wares are sold to the people waiting to cross the border, the harsh symbolism of this particular border is hard to escape. Visiting the border and observing the people on the other side of the barrier, one sad moment I had is when I asked myself who is actually inside and who is outside the cage, a feeling that the use of bars reinforces.
