House of Jasmines

My ongoing self-portrait project started in the fall of 2010. I am NOT trying to make a statement. This is my everyday life captured in pictures. It's not staged photography or anything else. It's just me, and you find "me" in these pictures. The name was inspired by Ghazaleh Alizadeh's amazing book "خانه‌ی ادریسی‌ها," or maybe the whole project is inspired by her and everyone else who goes through daily life and never manages to take pictures of its most ordinary things and feelings, everyone who keeps a fake smile on their face and lives a life full of shadows, doubt, and lies.
